The award was conferred for its Alma del Campo Tribu cigar, one of the company's first brand name cigars to be introduced to the market.

Plasencias goal is to use the best leaves of aged tobacco exclusively in their cigars leaving them in the hands of the best collaborators in the fields and artists of the factories.

This dark robusto is made with an oily wrapper and rough head. It begins with hearty notes of black pepper and cedar, but soon settles down, showing earth and coffee notes along with hints of baking spices before a slightly ashy finish. It draws and burns evenly.
